The Stonewall Jackson Elementary School Dads Club pours a few glasses of wine and deals out a few hands of Texas Hold 'Em poker Friday night.
The club puts on the Fall Wine Social and Poker Tournament starting at 7 p.m., Sept. 18, at Lakewood Tavern, which reserved its space for the Stonewall Dads that night..
The tournament accepts a $100 buy-in — payable in cash or by check at the door — and players who don’t make the cut can buy back in to the tournament for $50. Beer and wine come included with the entry fee.
The tournament features professional dealers. The first place winner pockets a pair of round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, second place rocks to an iPod Shuffle, and third place winners receive a gift card to Lakewood Tavern or the Taco Joint.
The cheering section also can buy drinks and appetizers for $30.
Proceeds from the event go toward Stonewall improvements, so there’s a winning hand right there.
Contact Dan Grimsley or Jonathan Clarkson to reserve a seat at the tournament table or for more information.
