Popsicles ruled the day for first-graders at Stonewall.
School life in the first grade gets a little tougher than it was in kindergarten. Teachers and parent volunteers at Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, though, gave first-graders a respite from coursework.
Students recently took to the outdoors, leaving classrooms behind for awhile, just to have a little fun. They played parachute and water games, and enjoyed Popsicles.
“We usually do this every year to show the kids that although first grade is a little more serious than kindergarten, we still have a lot of fun,” one teacher said.
Fun indeed. The smiles testify.
