Stonewall Gardens, a nonprofit group benefiting the outdoor science classroom at Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, grew from the Dallas ISD budget cuts and subsequent layoffs last year that nearly cost the school the garden.

The group gained its nonprofit status during the summer, and now steps up to the Christmas plate with a different type of gift idea.

Stonewall Gardens offers gift sponsorships in honor of a child, spouse, or grandparent, for example. A donation in any amount in a person’s name generates a personalized card notification of the sponsorship.

The gift, in turn, keeps giving to the students of Stonewall, who reap the benefits of an outdoor classroom and connection to nature.
